Ortlieb Trunk Bag

Ortlieb’s Trunk Bag is a waterproof bag that attaches to the top of your rack. The main compartment is waterproof and access is through a waterproof TIZIP zipper. Inside the main compartment is a zippered pocket and a lot of space to hold your gear for the day.

The outside of the bag features two zippered neoprene pockets, which are not waterproof but water resistant. There are reflexive patches to keep you visible at night. Also on the rear is a fabric patch where you can slide a clip on light to keep you even more visible at night. It also has a padded shoulder strap, making it easy and comfortable to take the Trunk Bag with you when you’re off the bike.

The Trunk Bag comes in two varieties. The first uses Ortlieb’s rack adapter and the second features a Rixen & Kaul KLICKfix adapter (Click here to see pictures of both adapters). The features of these two systems are listed below.

Ortlieb Rack Adapter:

• Designed for touring. The connection system comes with a frame that bolts to your rack (Click here to see pannier mounting rails on the Ortlieb adapter). This frame has bars hanging off it that the panniers mount to. It is a very tough system, designed for big loads.
• Once installed, the Trunk Bag simply connects to the frame and locks in place. A quick press of a metal button the frame releases the Trunk Bag.

Rixen & Kaul KLICKfix Adapter:

• Best option for the day cyclist or commuter.
• This connection system is lighter weight than the Ortlieb connection system. There is a large hook underneath the Rack Pack that attaches to the cross bars on the top of your rack. It releases with a quick pull of a release strap that runs to the end of the Rack Pack.
• Rixen & Kaul KLICKfix mount requires a horizontal bar 3.5 inches or wider on the top of the rack. This is compatible with the following racks that we stock:
  • Tubus Cargo
  • Tubus Cosmo
  • Tubus Locc
  • RackTime AddIt
  • RackTime FoldIt

• If you want to use this system with panniers, you need a rack with lower mounting bars, like the Cosmo, or the RackTime AddIt
