The B17 Standard is Brooks’ flagship model, ideal for long distance cycle touring, trekking, and atb use. It also makes a great commuter saddle. It has been on the market for over 100 years! Being a leather saddle, it takes a few rides to break in, in the neighborhood of a hundred miles. You’ll find that it becomes more comfortable with each ride you make on it.

To protect the leather, we recommend treating the saddle with Proofide, Brooks’ own saddle oil. You can find this on our website under accessories. This will keep it protected if it gets a little wet and aid in the break-in process. The B17 Standard features black steel rails and is machine riveted.
