Ortlieb’s recumbent backpack is designed to attach to the top of your rack, like a compact trunk rack. It gives you the flexibility of a bike pannier and a backpack, since it comes with a removable carrying system (aka backpack straps) that let you easily take it with you when you’re not on the bike. Works well with standard up-right bicycles and makes for an ideal commuting backpack.
The backpack fixes to the bike with a couple of fixing straps that lash it down securely, it’s more obvious how this works in the pictures. The main compartment of the bag is waterproof, and it has two outer mesh pockets on the sides of the bag. It also has a zipper passage at the base to let a drinking tube through for use with your favorite hydration system.
