Brooks Flyer Special

The Flyer Special is a classically sprung saddle for long distance trekking and touring. It is directly descending from the B66 Champion, first featured in the 1927 catalogue. Sharing the same leather tops of the B17 models, it combines the comfort of those saddles with the extra suspension granted by two rear springs. The Flyer Special features hand pounded copper rivets and a shaved skirt to give it a more elegant look than the regular Flyer. Being a leather saddle, it takes a few rides to break in, in the neighborhood of a hundred miles. You’ll find that it becomes more comfortable with each ride you make on it.

To protect the leather, we recommend treating the saddle with Proofide, Brooks’ own saddle oil. You can find this on our website under accessories. This will keep it protected if it gets a little wet and aid in the break-in process. The Flyer Special features steel rails and hand pounded copper rivets.

Note that Brooks has started including a rain cover with the Flyer Special, so no need to order an extra.
