The Front Roller Classic is a pannier for either the front or the rear rack. It is smaller than the Back Roller Plus and Bike Packer Plus, but works great for commuting or in companion with a set of rear panniers. With its symmetrical design and slanted shape on both sides, the Front Roller Classic provides enough space so you’ll be able to pedal without clipping your heals on the pannier. It can also be used individually either on the left or right side of the bike.
The Ortlieb QL1 system used with the Front Roller Classic panniers allows for fast and easy single-handed mounting and removal of the panniers. Simply lift the top handle to remove the panniers from the rack.
The same goes for attaching them. The QL1 hooks at the top of the panniers can be slid forwards and backwards independently with a quick twist of an allen wrench, letting you place the panniers on your rack anywhere you want them to be (no heal strikes!). They are suitable for racks with a tube diameter up to 16 mm (hook inserts for diameters of 8 and 11 mm are included). There is also a hook at the base of the panniers to secure them to the rack, keeping them from flopping around. I’ve never experienced or seen an Ortlieb pannier fall off a rack while its properly installed.
The panniers are supplied with a shoulder strap and can be carried like a shoulder bag. We also sell the Ortlieb Pannier Backpack System so you can carry them on your back.
Two large and highly reflective 3M Scotchlite reflectors ensure safety in the dark.
The PVC fabric with which these panniers are constructed is incredibly durable and completely waterproof. With the roll down lid, these panniers can be completely submerged while keeping the contents completely dry.
