The B17 Champion Special is a fancier version of Brooks’ flagship model, the B17 Standard. The Champion Special has copper rails, mid-sized copper rivets and a chamfered edge on the skirt. It is ideal for long distance cycle touring, trekking, and atb use. It also makes a great commuter saddle. Being a leather saddle, it takes a few rides to break in, in the neighborhood of a hundred miles. You’ll find that it becomes more comfortable with each ride you make on it.
To protect the leather, we recommend treating the saddle with Proofide, Brooks’ own saddle oil. You can find this on our website under accessories. This will keep it protected if it gets a little wet and aid in the break-in process. The B17 Champion Special features copper plated rails and hand pounded copper rivets. Its a true work of art!
Note that Brooks has started including a rain cover with the B17 Special, so no need to order an extra.
